I'm an experienced PC tech yet I haven't been able to find an answer to this extremely simple question. Can I replace a laptop HD that has low RPM (less than 5400) with a new HD that has higher RPM (5400 or 7200)? I'm just not sure if the controller is specific on a proprietary Mobo like one that would be in a laptop so I thought I'd better turn to you helpful folk.
