Have smearing effects on my desktop

I own a Compaq Presario 5000 PC. My display shows smearing effects. What I mean is that folder windows and icons and anything dark of large has a smearing effect left of the objects as well as to the right. It can't be the monitor because I have plugged two CRTs and one Flat Panel into it. Could it be the mother board or display adapter or something?

Not quite sure what you mean by smearing, but you may be experiencing one of the effects you can chooose in Display. Go to Control Panel, Display, Settings, Advanced, and look around in there for various effects that you may have turned on but don't want.

I know what you mean. That is the whole reason I had my first LCD screen returned. Stick with the big bulky IBM monitors. Thats what I do :-)

Its not the LCD. This problem has been happening before I got the LCD. Even when I Used a compaq CRT monito...it still had the same effect. When I plugged my LCD into another computer...it worked fine. It has to be something within the system, can anyone think of anything that may have cause the smearing effects on my desktop?
