At first my WinTV USB worked on the Toshiba Laptop with Win XP I just bought, but now it doesn't show any video although everything else still works. Audio is fine. Frames are captured and thumbnails display fine. Videoclips are saved and play back in any media player fine. No video shows in the main TV window though - it's just black. I probably installed the latest XP drivers and software from their website. It is confusing that it worked for about a week, then suddenly this problem developed. Other programs that use the WinTV as a video source, such as Intel Create&Share, display the video fine. I notice various messages about WinTV (all concern the pci card, not USB device I have) discuss removing all old drivers, so I can try that but I've already tried lots of things so I would appreciate any help.

If its any help i've just installed the latest drivers from Hauppauge website under XP Pro, they work fine, but I had to do a complete uninstall of driver and applications before they worked at all.

Mike0323 I could be way off the mark but is it possible you don't have overlay turned on anymore? I vaguely recall seeing something about overlay mode on my travels .. hope that helps...
