Harry Potter black screen

I have been experiencing problems with Harry Potter. When running away from the troll and into the girls toilets the screen goes black. The health icon can still be seen and the music keeps playing. The PC hasnt crashed because when i press ESC i can still access the game's menu and quit as normal. I am running the game in software rendering mode. Has anyone else experienced this problem or knows how to get around it?

MS has a fix for a harry Potter problem over at their site. I don't remember what it's for.

The problem on MSN is a general protection fault, but i havent experienced that problem at all with harry potter.
