OS: WIN XP MEDIA CENTER
CPU/Ram: 1.7ghz
Product: Toshiba / SATELLITE A105 PSAA5U-00Z01C
Comment:

Toshiba Satellite A105 PSAA5U-00Z01C
Harddrive: Toshiba MK8032GSX-(S1)

I'm not able to run the setup on the XP Prof. CD.

Has no floppy and I can't run a memory check boot, nothing.

Sticks on the bluescreen on windows setup before the partition setup:
"Examining 76317 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi..."

PLUS I can't even boot up to windows through anyway. I believe this is a HD failure or a memory chip failure, however I've heard if it was a memory error, I wouldn't gone as far as the setup etc.

Hit me with all suggestions from all sides

Thank you!

Run hdd diagnostic software from the Toshiba site http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/...

If you suspect the ram run Memtest86 from http://www.memtest86.com/

Diagnostic software progs also available on the Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD) from http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

Good luck.

You may need to enter the BIOS setup and set the CD to first boot device. Hit Delete key immediately after power-up.

You will have to burn Diagnostic Utilities to CD on another Machine in the absence of a floppy drive.

Actually, you should be using the Toshiba Restore CD's. Contact Toshiba, they may be able to supply them if you don't have them.

There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.
