hardware accelerate dont work in xp

i got a game called midtown madness 2... i can only ues the software accelerate in the game... because when i change to hardware accelerate and it crashed...please help!!!

go to start menu, select run and type dxdiag. Go to page ´sound´ and select ´test sound´ with hardware acceleration. This will test whether your soundcard supports hardware acceleration.
