Comment:

I have a new 80 GB in which i installed Xp on. Now it has a weird error, and when i use chkdsk at bootup to fix it, it hangs, and dosent do anything about it. Luckilly my comp still boots if i just ignore it, but i cant use partition magic or anything since it marks the partition as "bad." here is the output from a program i pulled up.

Error #106: Partition didn't begin on head boundary.
ucBeginSector expected to be 1, not 18.
Error #109: Partition ends after end of disk.
ucEndCylinder (9729) must be less than 9729.

Does anyone know a good program in which i can use to fix this ?

I say partition it again.... well maybe format it all and then partition. Use the basics also. Get yourself one of the windows 98 or ME start up disks and run format c and fdisk from there. Ive always used the old style method withotu a problem.

Use FDISK first to delete all partitions. Then create new partitions (also with FDISK).

And finally FORMAT each of the new partitions.

Install your OS from there.

Best of luck
