Hi, I own a 40 Gig Hard Drive and i fear it maybe overheating. After about half an hour of use it will blue screen and say somethin about begining the physical dump of memory. So i turn it off and restart it and it wont detect my hard-drive. So i leave it for about 5-10 mins and it started working again. I thought well if it might be over-heating i'll open my window so its really cold in the room...what ya know it didnt blue screen. One other note before it does blue screen it hangs for a couple of seconds. Do you think my hard-drive is faulty of just overheating.....i 've never actually come across of a hard-drive overheating....what you think?
I had a harddrive failure on a friends computer not long ago that was doing the same thing except his would make a noise before the physical dump and restart. Sometimes it would start up and sometimes it wouldnt. Changed his harddrive and all was well. Is yours making any noises?
