Hi, I want to know how fast my HDD is spinning when I read/write big files to disk. Is it close to 7200 RPM or its 1000 RPM....

How can I check that?

Or take the cd that came with the drive and make the diag floppy. If it came preinstalled just find out who makes it and get the diag software from the web site. Be careful not to hit the low level format or we're gonna hear you cry all the way down here.
