I have a ?? on a hard drive not being recognized to its full size.. in other words.. I have a friend who has a 250 gig HD and when installing it in their Pc it only recognizes 128 gig.. the Pc itself is only about 6 months old. and was brand new.. so I don’t see it being a bios issue. so what else can cause the limitations on hard drive size. I have never had to deal with this before. as I am only using a 80 gig drive on my PC…. I am trying to get more specifics on the MB but this is a general question.. .. thanks..

that actually addresses windows 2000 but i read somewhere that XP also has that limit unles you have at least SP 1.. so i am assuming that if they DO have SP1 then it should recognize the full 250 gig?? is that right??
