Hard drive light keeps flashing

Help. My hard drive light keeps flashing onec every 2 seconds with no programs running. Tried closing all programs in task manager But to no help. Pleas help this is annoying

Hi I used to have the same problem. Do you have any antivirus software installed on your PC? When i formatted harddrive and reinstalled WIN the problem went away

I've never yet seen a h/d that remains dorment if you arn't actually doing anything, there will always be some h/d activity going on.
