Hi, I have just taken out my Asus P4P800E Deluxe Motherboard from my desktop as I had to replace the CPU Fan Rentainer and I have everything back to normal, now when I turn on my pc I get this message of not being able to find the hard drive ??? I checked the connections and power and even went into the BIOS but there is no Hard Drive, so I changed hard drive and put in Windows XP and tried to instal that but XP says there is no Hard Drive ??? Would appreciate some help on this THanks in advance.

Does the bios still say there is no hard drive ? If not, try reloading the bios setup defaults.

Is this an IDE drive or a SATA drive?

I see no reason to reset the BIOS. Double check your connections...you obviously didn't reassemble something correctly.

Yes it is an IDE Hard Drive, and I wrote everything down where it goes and labelled some so I am 99% sure it was all put back together rightr but I think that I must have done something wrong

"and put in Windows XP and tried to instal that but XP says there is no Hard Drive ???" it sounds like the cd drive was detected. just as a test try putting the HD on that cable and, see if it is detected, after you recheck the connections and confirm they are correct.
