Could anyone perhaps offer some advice re- the following? I recently installed an audio-editing program (Adobe Audition) onto my computer and am extremely pleased with the results (It's similar to what used to be Cool Edit Pro 2 by Syntrillium). However, after working on a recording, adjusting equalization, normalizing, deleting sections, etc, etc, I dump the completed wav file into "My Music" - and once I've burned to CD or used it for whatever, delete the entry from here altogether. Insofar as I can see, all the Adobe Audition temporary files etc are deleted when the edit program is closed down. However, if I open "My Computer" and look at the C-drive pie chart and free-space (in the C-drive properties), the available amount seems to be going down and down and not being restored to what it was before the wav file(s) were deleted. Are they actually still there somewhere? Each operation takes a considerable amount of hard-drive space up of course which, once the material has been used, is no longer required. Would appreciate any advice you folk may be prepared to give. Best wishes to all for the New Year and thanks in anticipation to anyone kind enough to respond - Peter

Have you checked to see if the file(s) are residing in the Recycle Bin?

You could search for *.wav to see if its storing them in some weird location. Also, what size of drive do you have? Just curious if it's eating gigs of space or just a couple hundred megabytes.

Thanks very much for your reply. Hard drive is 80Gbytes and each time the programme is used it consumes between 1 and 2Gbytes.
Best wishes

I think this utility will help you to find out whats taking up the missing space

I would also suggest you run a disk clean up, when u delete, also take out the older restore points, and all the temporary files etc. Have you run chkdsk and defragmented? Since ur adding and deleting lots of large files, you should defragment often to prevent the drive from getting cluttered.
