hi all
the thing is that my PC does not detect my hard disk even after all the connections are done.it can only detect my DVD rom and the CD-rw.even after changing the jumpers and the IDE cable and the IDE controller.and it also gives the following error(cmos checksum error-defaults loaded)

change the battery on the motherboard.

If that doesn't work, consider, is this a new hard drive. If so, go to the manufacturers web site and download the disk prep software the provide / recommend.

Had similar problems with a Maxtor drive which were cured by using the MaxBlast software to partition and format the drive first before trying to install windows.
