I got 160 GB hard disk, when i want to format from the disk management console it says, an internal error and i cant format or if i want to delete partition it says you cant delete becoz of internal error you have to restart your computer of the console and i did that and the same result, NOW the strange is that when i boot my PC on SAFE-MODE i can format from the Disk management console with no pop-up msg saying internal error and it works fine

Look in Disk Management at the drive and see what type of disk it is. Basic or Dynamic.

I don't understand what you want to do. Do you want to partition, format, scan?? You said it's a separated disk.......... do you mean an external USB drive?

Download Super Fdisk It's an iso file to burn the app to a bootable CD. Get the iso Burn to CD Insert new CD in drive Boot into Super Fdisk It's similar to old DOS Fdisk It will show all your drives. Highlight the external Use the toolbar to format, etc., any action you want. BE SURE YOU HIGHLIGHT THE CORRECT DRIVE Format wipes out the files on the drive you select..... forever!!
