Hard disk problem

OS: Windows XP Pro
CPU/Ram: 2.2 P4/768MB

I have a usb 2.0 120GB HD. How does one go about fixing errors on it besides disk Check? Would it help to use Drive Image and then reformat it. If i reload the image, will the errors transfer too?

Drive image makes an exact copy of your hard drive. So if you reload the image, you will reload the corrupt data. It won't fix bad sectors either, you need to run the scandisk program so it marks the bad sectors as unusable.

What type of errors are you encountering? If the contents of the drive are backed up, you can reformat it with Windows and then restore the data.
