Happy Thanksgiving,

Thanks to all the forum posters who have given me a lot to be thankful for in the past helping me through problem after problem.

I hope this Thanksgiving holiday will be your most satisfying and rewarding to date.

Thanks and regards from Pennsylvania,

Phil

Happy Thanksgiving to all from NY!

For some people Thanksgiving is supposed to be the day you rest for the Early Bird Specials that begins at 6AM tomorrow. Who could resist what Staples (among other stores) advertises: Maxtor 200GB 7200 RPM internal hard drive for only $19.98, SanDisk 1GB SD memory card $14.98, etectera! I hate those hard-to-resist ads.

Happy Thanksgiving from California. As to the sales, If you are not #1 through #10 those items are usually gone in the first 3 minutes. No substitutes, no rain checks. Limited to units on hand.

Of course I am aware of that. My wife is trying to dissuade me from heading over to CompUSA (1 hour drive) for tonight 9PM to Midnight Super Sale :-)

Good sales all over the place....

Best Buy has a decent price on a PNY 1GB USB flash drive. Regularly $49.99, on sale for $ 14.99. A savings of $ 35.00, and it's an instant savings too... no rebates to fuss around with. Limit of 5 per customer (in the stores), or limit of 1 (online). I ordered 2 of them online; had to log out and re-log back in again and place a second order. In case anyone wants to check it out, enter the product number 6778392 into the search bar on the Best Buy website.

Staples also has a decent price on one too, but there is a manufacturer's mail in rebate. Can't stand those damn mail-ins.....

Man Mechanix2Go.. never knew you were way over across the pond over there! Beautiful country; sure wish I can see Bankok some day..

I gave up doing the early shopping at Staples. I arrived at the store 1 hour before it opens at 6 AM only to see a very long line of about 100 to 150 anxious shoppers.

Yikes.... I'm just about to head out to Home Depot (8:oo a.m.here now) I'll probably encounter the same lines too..

Maybe we should resort to online shopping???

That is a GREAT price on tha Maxtor harddrive too !!! Maybe you should see if it is available online, XpUser..

Yeah it's a great price but to tell the truth I never was in the market for one. It's the ad that lured me to almost spend money for something I don't need immediately.

Update >> Well, 9:15 a.m. now and I didn't leave yet, lol... I'm playin' with the pc here and thinking about those darn long lines too.
Something is telling me tp put it off till early, early tomorrow morning..

I almost ordered that Maxtor too, but decided at last minute that I didn't really need it. Plus, I seem to recall mixed opinions of the Maxtor brand. If it were a Western Digital, I'd order two of 'em, lol!

Good point! I don't believe any smart business merchants would go out of their mind & slash prices on the good stuffs. It may be just those that ain't obviously that good but not too bad either.
