I have a laptop that just hangs after xp login or reboots. It takes about 10 minutes to get to login screen and once it finally comes and I select anyones account it just reboots or sometimes just hangs. I have tried booting into safe mode and get the same thing. I tried to go back to last known good setting and same thing.
I do not have the restore disks nor original Xp disks for this machine, however I do have xp disks that were installed on other machines.

Do a windows repair. Make sure you use an xp disc that is the same verion thats installed, otherwise it will crash, and piss you off. As long as you have your own key, it should be ok
