Hi,
I have installed Windows 2000 in Partition C and Windows XP on partition D on my system. After the I installed Red hat Linux on my system in the free space. After installing Linux Windows XP is not working.
How ever windows 2000 and Linux working perfectly.
When I select the Windows XP as OS I am getting the error message as HAL.dll is corrupted or missing please reinstall it. I don’t have Windows XP Bootable CD with me.
Please help me to resolve this issue

Thanks
Binod Mathew

Sounds like you need a WIN XP CD. No other way around it. Might have to do an inplace install to fix the master boot record.

After that, search around the web and find out how to properly run a multi boot with Windows and Linux.

Good luck

They'd appreciate a nominal donation for the file, but it's not required.

On the chance the download was corrupted (it happens), save another copy of the file to the desktop, then place it in System32 using Windows Explorer.

You need to run a repair, Hal.dll is a file unique to you, and cannot be replaced with a generic copy.

If your CD is not bootable, can you get your hands on 6 floppies? if so goto Microsoft.com and download the 6 Xp startup floppies which will do the booting for you.

I don't suffer from insanity, I embrace it.

a computer where i work had that hal.dll problem. it ended up that the hard drive was corrupted and the computer shop replaced it. might not be the problem in your case though.
