After installing Linux Windows XP is not working. How ever windows 2000 and Linux working perfectly. When I select the Windows XP as OS I am getting the error message as HAL.dll is corrupted or missing please reinstall it. I don’t have Windows XP Bootable CD with me. On the chance the download was corrupted (it happens), save another copy of the file to the desktop, then place it in System32 using Windows Explorer.

You need to run a repair, Hal.dll is a file unique to you, and cannot be replaced with a generic copy.
If your CD is not bootable, can you get your hands on 6 floppies? if so goto Microsoft.com and download the 6 Xp startup floppies which will do the booting for you.
I don't suffer from insanity, I embrace it.
