When I try to boot to xp all it displays is

title Windows XP Home
rootnoverify (hd0,3)
makeactive
chainloader +1

I have player around with the hd numbers and none of them seems to work.\

My grub.conf looks like

# grub.conf generated by anaconda
#
# Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file
# NOTICE: You do not have a /boot partition. This means that
# all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /, eg.
# root (hd0,6)
# kernel /boot/vmlinuz-version ro root=/dev/hda7
# initrd /boot/initrd-version.img
#boot=/dev/hda
default=2
timeout=10
splashimage=(hd0,6)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz
title Red Hat Linux (2.4.18-18.8.0)
root (hd0,6)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.18-18.8.0 ro root=LABEL=/ hdc=ide-scsi
initrd /boot/initrd-2.4.18-18.8.0.img
title Windows XP Home
rootnoverify (hd0,3)
makeactive
chainloader +1

and it's mapped like this

Disk /dev/hda: 255 heads, 63 sectors, 2434 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda3 * 1 836 6715138+ 7 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/hda4 837 2434 12835935 f Win95 Ext'd (LBA)
/dev/hda5 837 1346 4096543+ b Win95 FAT32
/dev/hda6 1347 1924 4642753+ b Win95 FAT32
/dev/hda7 1925 2434 4096543+ 83 Linux

I Fixed the problem by creating a fat12 first thing on my harddrive.
