Hello,

Im using Win XP. i have applied Group Policy using GPEDIT.MSC command. And i have applied a Group Policy, it is appliying to every body.

I dont want to apply group policy to every body. is it possible to restrict Group Policy to Administrator. and that Group Policy should apply to user only.

thanks

You may not be able to limit the Administrator's powers and you probably don't really want to.

You could lock yourself out of some very important functions.

Try building a group of Power Users or some such and then give or take away rights as needed.

Someone with more experience will probably be able to give you more specific directions.

Your post is somewhat sketchy, but I 'll try to read between the lines.

It sounds like you have all your users as belonging to the Administrators group (bad practice) and you want to apply restrictions to one user only.

If this is the case, you'll need to move that user to another group (being sure to remove them from the Administrators group), and apply your restrictions to that group.

You can have as many individual groups as you have users, if you want to. This would give you much control (via Group Policy) over each users rights.

Restricting the Administrators group could have devastating consequences.

Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

I Can create seperate group, but how can i apply Group Policy to a Group. When go to properties of Group, there is no option of group Policy how we found in Win2k & 2k3 server o/s on OU's and Domain levels.

Then how can we apply group policy to a user or a group.

thanks
