i have 2 desktops. i use 800 x 600 resolution and 32-bit color mode for both of them. just the other day, i installed a game on both. the game runs only in windowed mode. but i encountered a peculiar problem on one of my desktops.
when the game starts, only the minimize button is active. the close button is greyed out (inactive). i have to use the task manager to quit the game every time i have to close the game. the strange thing is that this does not happen on the other desktop. the close button of the game window remains active on the other machine.
what exactly is the problem? why is the close button active on one and inactive on the other desktop?

I use ALT +F4 to close an active window. That is easier to do than Task Manager. ------------------ Try System File Checker: Open the Command Prompt, then type:
sfc /scannow
note space between the c and / Have XP CD in your drive. Information about SFC ------------------ Do you check for, and remove, Spyware ?? Spyware info.from Microsoft Virus and Spyware scans work better in Windows Safe-Mode.
