Go to Tools > Options > Performance > Advanced and deselect 'Use overlays'.

ham30. Although I have looked at all the programs that I can think of I cannot find one with the sequence: Tools, Options, Performance, and Advanced. Can you tell me where to look?

mirna, I got the blank green screen fixed by decreasing the HARDWARE ACCELERATION. Follow these steps: START, CONTROL PANEL, APPEARANCE AND THEMES, click the DISPLAY icon, SETTINGS, ADVANCED, TROUBLESHOOT, then slide the HARDWARE ACCELERATION bar to the left. I had to slide mine two notches to the left to fix the blank green screen. Click OK.
Click the "make change without shutting down the computer" button. Then try a video. If needed move it another notch to the left.
