Hi, my problem is that when I click, for example, "Start" or "File", in various applications it makes a clicking sound, this may be the result of a virus I recently got rid of, I'm not sure. Also, the drop-down menus have a gray background (instead of the default white), such as when I click "File" or "Edit". Any help is appreciated on this matter.

Follow:
1) Install, update database and run full scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Attach malwarebyte full scan log, fix anything detected.

2) House cleaning. Run full Scan with SuperAntispyware : http://www.superantispyware.com/dow... . Fix what it detects and post summary scan log.

If I'm helping you and I don't reply within 24 hours send me a PM.

Creig, For the clicking sound go into your Control Panel and open Sounds and Audio Devices. Under the Sounds tab scroll down to Windows Explorer> and change Start Navigation to [None] using the drop-down arrow button, click Apply/OK.

For the gray background on the drop-down menus, right click your Desktop, choose Properties, under the Appearance tab click the Advanced button, under "Item:" use the drop down arrow button and choose "Menu" now to the right you'll see "Color 1:" just use the drop down arrow button and choose "White", then OK/Apply/OK your way out.
