Thanks to everyone that answered my plea for help.
As it turned out, files that controlled my ICS (Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing) got deleted when I removed ZoneAlarm Pro from my computer.
Nothing I did made any difference. Not removing SP2 or running a Repair on Windows SP1 or SFC /Scannow or reinstalling ZoneAlarm or turning on everything in the System Management file associated with ICS or writing to this forum for help. Nothing Worked.
I have repartitioned and formatted the drive and am able to start a new session on this unit. It had been 6 years since my last format/reload. I really hate doing it!
Tomorrow the Stars!

Once I get my unit running, I just hate redoing everything.
I know what you mean however. I used to (years ago) format and reinstall Windows95 every night. That went on for about a year.
In those days I was spending every minute on sights that was related to hacking and reverse engineering. The people (and me too) would try to screw each others computers up as a way of having fun.
But now I just hate formatting a drive.
Tomorrow the Stars!

I share the posters view about reformatting.
I have a highly tailored machine and although reformat/install itself is very quick, it would take several weeks (maybe months) to get everything exactly back to the way I want it. I prefer to have things work the way I like rather than the way MS try to dictate.
I'm still on W98SE and although I give it hell (including tests to help folk with problems on W95/98 forum) it's very stable indeed. Last reformat 12 November 1999 despite replacing motherboard since then.
