Got a virus now can't open .exe fil

I was downloading a .exe file from KAZAA(i hate them) and opened the file and it said i had some sorta virus in the windows folder. So i was stupid and didn't write the name down and restarted my computer. Now i'm unable to do anything except go on the internet basically. I need help. Please if anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Jay

its ok man go here for a free online vires checker http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp good luck and nevr use anything from kazza exept mp3 files ok

Thanks man now everything seems to work for some reason. I really don't understand why. I ran the program u told me too and when it was completed it said there were no viruses discovered but after that the files seem to work again. So i guess it did something. Thanks Again Jay
