I have XP at the moment. I don't have a problem with it but my Soundblaster live 5.1 platinum does. I have it kind a fixed but out of curiosity I was wanting some one to let me know how to change from NTFS back to FAT32 as fdisk wont recognise it and report no fixed disks. Bit of a bugger for getting back to ME which all of my hardware likes.

Don't leave XP just on account of your SoundBlaster - I have the same Card and have no problems with it

Re Fdisk - I think you have to delete the non-DOS Partition before you do anything else

OK..i vote for XP.. or dual boot if your harddrive is big..

but in case you really want to go back..

boot your computer with XP installation CD.. let it "install" again.. it will first ask you what to do with your harddrive.. delete the existing NTFS partition.. re-create one and reformat one in FAT.. after it is reformatted.. you will see XP copying files onto the harddrive.. STOP it.. restart the machine with your WIN98 disk.. since it is back to FAT.. you can now reformat or delete what XP installation copys earlier... and reinstall 98

hope that help.

Specifically for Lesley.

Do you have the Midi bay as that is what is causing problems?

If you do what version of the drivers are you using?

Cheers.

No, sorry, should have said, I haven't installed the Software - just using the Drivers which came with XP - haven't even installed the updated Drivers from the Windows Site

At the moment I can do all I want with the XP Drivers and without the Software

There is, I think, an update for the software at the Creative Site - have you been there ?

Are you using 'old' Software?

You would have to uninstall what you already have in and then get the latest - I think they call it 'Liveware'
