Just boot to the restore CD and run it. It will wipe clean the HD & reinstate Windows to its factory-state ... with no trace of your "personal info" left intact. The chance of him recovering the supposedly vanished data is extremely remote unless he is truly an expert in computer forensics.

Just run the recovery disc few days prior to handing him the PC, and let him have all applicable discs that came with the system once you've handed it over.
You don't want to give him the PC without a way to fix things when they go awry.

Is the restore disc one that you made, or did it come with the computer when new?
If it came with the computer when new, just run it and you should be good.

Cheers guys,ur all one in a million
