Hello,
I got two 32bit Gigabit NICs (both are National Semiconductor DP83820) and they all work in my AMD 1.33Ghz/512 MB RAM PC.
The problem is that they do Not work in my older pc -- AMD K6/2 450 (384MB RAM). When I install it in the Windows XP Pro (and also the Redhat 7.3), it cannot access the DHCP server (it is a Linksys 100bps Router). When I set the static IP, most of the time the PC will hang. Then I just replace the NIC with the original 3Com EtherLink 10/100, everything returns normal.
Will it be the problem that the Gigabit NIC cannot work in the older pc, as they all work in my 1.33Ghz pc.
