I have a XP PC and I would love to ghost this computer. Is it possible ghost a harddrive to an attached USB External drive?

Has anyone used casper XP. Is that any better then Ghost?

Yes you can ghost to external drive. Which version of Ghost? I use 2003, for which you just create a standard ghost boot disk with USB support (1.1 or 2). Boot from this boot floppy, and the external USB drive will be available to Ghost to. Presumably Ghost 9 will be at least as easy.

I've heard of Caspar, but never used it, so no idea if better than Ghost or not (have to say Ghost is the one Norton app I do use! It generally does the job).

Hello chrismr,
I always use Acronis True Image to backup my HDD with WinXP to external USB drive.
This program is perfect for that act.
Due to intuitive wizard, it's very easy and fast to do all you need.
By the way it's worth every cent for it, howhere it's cheaper then Ghost.
My best recommend!
