I have a bunch of crazy files in "D:\Documents and Settings\Ken\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\Bob\L37RTXSA" which all have illegal names and don't seem to exist. All the names are 1 character long; some of them have the same names; some of the names are " ", "/" and ":". None of them have date created/modified properties.
When i try to delete any of them, or any of the folders above them, i get a message "Cannot delete the specified file: cannot read from the source file or disk."
Now, i'm trying to convert my file system to NTFS, in order to make frontpage server extensions more secure, but convert.exe fails on the above mentioned folder, saying "The folder is either damaged or there is not enough disk space" (there's plenty of disk space, 10 gigs free).
I've tried defraging and scandisking but the files are still there. The files also take up 1.88 gigs so they are quite annoying. I'm pretty sure all the letters together spell some filenames, because two of them are called D:\, which is the HD they are on, but there are 35 characters.
Anyone know how to get rid of them?

More details:
my partition is fat32, but i have run convert.exe a few times with it failing. It still says fat32 on the HD though.
I've tried every cmd trick i have read on google, with * and killing explorer and rd /s and all of that, to no avail. The files with names " " say access denied, all the other files says "cannot read from the source file specified". I've tried a rival DOS program called DF; it couldn't see any of the files in the directory.

Go here

and grab a copy of Volkov commander.
Put in on a boot floppy and run it.
You should now be able to navigate to your problem files and delete them.
