I have a toshiba laptop which is dual booted with linux.

I am going to remove linux in the first instance to free up primary partitions as I cannot ghost my xphome.

Once I have done that and ghosted my xphome I would like to transfer it to my main desktop machine which has a dvd rw and then burn the image to a dvd for furure reinstalls I assume that if I do that I can then access the ghosted image from the dvd to reinstall my laptop xphome with all my progs and settings?.

I would appreciate some help on the above at your convenience and thank you all in anticipation.

regards,
duncan

The main question in my mind is: how will you access your DVD drive in Dos when you want to reinstall? With a CD drive it's no problem, just boot from a Win98 startup disk and select CD support. But does ths work with a DVD? I don't have one to try it out.

Andy good question.

Can I not make the dvd that has the ghost image bootable using nero?.

Would that then give me access through DOS?.
