Ok so bought the GF4 4200 card, runnin athlon 1gig with 257 mb sdram, a7v133 chipset and it wasnt workin proper ( freezin reboots etc..) researched and found that for this card and chipset have to upgrade the vid, cpu to agp, and the 4in1 drivers, also reset BIOS to defaults to be safe. Did all that and everything is workin great but now approx every 2 days it start freezin when i play vids again. To fix I have to reinstall all drivers and reset BIOS to defaults ( even though i did not change anything since last time ). Does anyone have any idea why this is happening or what i need to do to fix this ? Also put the vid card in another machine and it rran flawlessly so i do not believe there is a problem with the card itself, but who knows ? Any responses appreciated. Typin fast so i prolly forgot to add somethin in but lemme know pls, thanks alot.

What version drivers are you using?
Try the 30.82 detonators they are very stable. I use those with the same card.
Also if that does not work try dropping your fbs down to 100 and see what happens.
Asus has had this issue before with front bus speed.
Sometimes you have to experiment with different driver versions till you find a stable one.

I had similar problems untill I did the following, set bios agp option to 2x not 4x.
1)install the 4in1 version 4.42 in safe mode.
2)install video drivers version 40.71 in safe mode.
then once pc running fine go back to bios and reset at 4x agp.
after this I never had a freeze or reboot by itself again.cheers

thanks for responses.
i have used the 37 30 and 40 detonators, and the FSB is runnin at 100. The last couple times it happened only had to reinstall the 4in1 and the agpto cpu driver and it started working again. I will try settin the agp to 2x then reinstalling the drivers next time it happens again. Thanks again.

If you only get the freeze up when wathcing vids then you might try lowering the AGP Apature (sp) I have the same card and all works fine with an apature of 128 but if I go to 256 I get freeze up when going to full screen video
