hi guys,

i just want to know how i can get back the original Ntoskrnl.exe file. i have a third party program that changes the boot logo of windows xp. but i want to get back the original file because i want to install Windows XP Service Pack 1 Express and it won't let me because of this file which is modified. is there a safe way to get the original back? and once i get the original back and install SP1 Express, can i revert back to using boot logos on my computer? thanks.

Reply:

Insert your windows XP disc in the cd drive.
Go to start/run
Type in cmd
type in sfc /scannow

This will recover XP files to their default.
