I am getting the following message all the time while online...

GENERIC HOST PROCESS FOR WIN 32 SERVICES HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE.
(I NOW CLICK CLOSE BUTTON)
THIS SYSTEM IS SHUTTING DOWN. TIME BEFORE SHUTDOWN: 1:00 (COUNTS DOWN)

REMOTE PROCEDURE CALL SERVICE WAS INTERRUPTED.

My question is simply, "What is this message and why did I start getting it?" Can you help?

Thanks,

Christopher

yup. like hundreds others, buddy, you're infected with the w32.blaster.worm. now, next time when the msg comes out, quickly go to START > RUN > and type "shutdown -a"

now this will stop the shutdown. the next thing you gotta do is download a patch from m$ for the virus
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-026.asp

have fun now. i did.

Don't forget to:

1) Remove msblast.exe from system32
2) Remove msblast entry in registry (RUN)
3) Apply MS patch and get yerself a decent firewall (ZoneAlarm is v good !!)

Well, I did EVERYTHING suggested and the worm-removal programs tell me that there is not a worm on my system. It couldn't find one at all...

So now the question is....what else can cause this problem.

Sincerely,

CCC
