Hi everyone,
I hope that someone can enlighten me as to what can be done about this frustrating situation.
It all started when I attempted to reinstall Windows XP on my acer 2010 series.
I wanted a fresh start, but got the opposite.
The first problem was that when I switched to the second recovery cd during installation, the system told me that there was a problem with it.
When I took it out I was instructed to insert the system cd, which I foolishly did and this resulted in a "general protection fault"-message.
Now, every attempt to start up results in this message. Also, every attempt to install Windows again now results in the same message. So I am kind of stuck. All I can do is interrupt the boot and go into BIOS, but from there it doesn't matter what I do; all boot attempts, from cd or not, will result in this message. And I know there is nothing wrong with the first recovery cd, so it can't be that.
Greatful for any advice.
