Geforce4- improve graphics?

I have a GeForce4 MX440 AGP card in my PC, but i'm sure it's not running to its full ability. Some graphics in games still have jagged edges and sometimes there are brief pauses in games where the screen will freeze (very brief, half a second or less maybe) Is there any way to improve things? It's not as though the system is slow and it should run most things quite comfortably at high graphic levels.
So any way to improve or is a GeForce 4 really a bad graphics card?

Have you tried downloading updated drivers? I use a geforce 4 ti 4200 and my graphics are beautiful. Also you have to tweak with the settigns inside the game. Turn up the detail levels.
