Geforce2 ultra has slow 3d

Running a geforce 3 on a pentium4 1.7 ghz machine and when i right click on the desktop and click properties it takes up to 20 seconds to load the control panel and if i choose any of the 3d screensavers it will hang for about 3 mins while loading that screen saver if i choose a non-3d screen saver there are no problems i believe i am running the latest greadest detonator drivers but ill have to check it when i get home if not then im running the ones that were out right before the new ones just posting to see if anyone else has seen this.

Are you using the WinXP's default drivers or are you using the newest or newer drivers from nvidia or places like reactor critical. Also if you have a new mobo, you might have to install some mobo drivers, that could also be the problem.

What card do you have in the first PCI slot? This card shares the with the Agp slot. I had a problem like that and I ended up moving one card at a time until the problem went away. (my problem was a sound blaster live card)good luck let me know how you make out. p.s. you can just shut down/then unplug your machine...swap 2 cards or move one to an empty slot....reboot and windows will find the card and update automatically for you.
