I'm setting up my new Gateway PRB 510 XL. I'm looking at the software bundled with the CD/DVD burner and am not familiar with Nero 6.0. I've used Easy CD creator, and Sony's Veritas RecordNow DX 4.60. These 2 that I have on other computers are similar and easy to use. A quick glance at the Nero looks a little more complicated but I found start a new "Data" job and that is what I use the most. One of my old Gateways has Roxio Easy Cd Creator on it and it's easy to use. I wonder why they now bundle Nero 6.0 with their new computers? Funny how what you are used to using is what you like best. Any opinions on any of these 3 software programs?
Jimi.

I have only ever used Nero so I am bias towards Nero. Nero are probably giving a nice back hander to gateway to bundle their software. Nero also do other programs so if you like it you might go buy the other software. Clever marketing eh?

Nero is very easy to use!
My burner came with Nero Express 5.something
and it is great!
I had a brief exposure to V6 and it is almost identical. If you have the full version, it also has the ability to run in Express mode which is easy and quick for every day sort of burning.

I've used Easy CD Creamator, Roxio, Sony's CD burning software, NTI CD Burning and Nero 6 is by far the absolute best I have ever used. I've been using Nero since version 4 and I've made sure that I've updated to the latest version everytime one has came out. There are so many extra plugins with Nero now geared toward re-authoring MP3s and now they are getting into re-authoring of DVD files. I used to burn "coasters" with EZ CD, Roxio and NTI, but with Nero you'll never burn a coaster unless you use really really cheapo media! There's my two cents!
