Hello. I have a Gateway notebook, MX3231. Although I have had it for some time I have never had to restore the system. I would like to make a set of reocvery dics from the notebook. Gateway claims that the dics can be made from the partition off the hard drive, I have tried and have gotten nowhere. The error message I get is "Recovery CD/DVD Creator no recovery partition update CD file found. Process aborted". Using Win Search I have found files that appear to be the ones I'm looking for but I can't access then,I have even tried a RUN command, from imformation gotten from Gateway's web support on the subject and still I can't make a set of disc. According to the Gateway web support this is a one shot deal, the dics can only be made once, I have never made any. Any ideas on this problem?

You can use programs like Ghost or Acronis to make backup CD or DVD images. They will return your system to the same condition it was at the time the backup was done.
