every game i have installed after installing the new os(win xp pro) is not running correctly. there is a 2 inch black bar on the right side of the screen that the mouse does not travel through. it seems as though the screen moves over when games start. the onboard chipset is the SiS 630/730 and i have upgraded the video drivers....but i cannot find the bios update for my board because i have no manual, nor is there any markings on the board. the company i bought the board from went out of business so i cannot contact them. this happens with every game i try to play: (warcraft 3, mechcommander 2, the sims, sim golf). it does not happen with any programs, just games. where can i find a generic bios update? how do i fix this problem im having with the black border only on one side of the screen? i have AMI BIOS, im not sure what revision right now
any help would be greatly appreciated

From a Microsoft web page:

If an older application gives you trouble when running Windows XP, you can set the compatibility properties manually so that the program runs in a different mode, such as Windows 95, or in a different display or resolution setting. To set the compatibility properties for a program:1. Right-click the executable or the program shortcut to the executable, and then click Properties.
2. Select the Run this program in compatibility mode check box.
3. From the list, select an operating system that the program runs in comfortably.
4. If necessary, also change the display settings and/or resolution, or disable the Windows XP visual themes.Run the program again when you?re finished changing the settings. Adjust the compatibility settings again if the program is still not running smoothly: a program that's unhappy on Windows 2000 may flourish on Windows 98.
