Games run in slow motion with XP

Ever since upgrading from Windows ME to Windows XP Pro, every game I have runs in slow motion. It's like that slow motion in those Max Payne games. It's really weird. All my hardware stayed the same...I just changed my OS. I did a clean install too. I've tried almost every graphics driver I could find (geforce 4 TI4600) but nothing. I'm clueless on this one. Yah, I thought it was a Direct X issue too, but I ran DxDiag and everything is fine there. I've done the compalibity mode for Windows 98/ME too. I've reinstalled at least 3 different sets of graphic drivers for my card. But none of that works. The games I'm trying are pretty recent too (all within the past year).

I'd suggest starting again. Uninstall your Nvidia display drivers through the control panel, don't restart, navigate to your Nvidia folder (mine is C:\Nvidia) and delete it, then shut down your PC.
Open the case (as long as you're not voiding your warranty) and remove the graphics card, blow out the slot and re-seat it firmly. Do the same with your RAM.
Restart, and let Xp install it's own drivers. Do you still get the problem?

Another thing to do is turn off Indexing Service in XP; all it does is interrupt the existing process which is running (ie. your game) to update the search index and adds nothing to XP except aggravation. And it WILL interfere in games. Explore, R/click drive letter/ Properties/ disable Indexing Service/ OK Also go into Task Master and see what is active; possibly something is being loaded that is pre-empting the gameplay.

Summary: Options ? What options.. All my games run perfect in WIN2000. When I tried WINXP, about 40% of my games run in "SLOW MOTION" like under water. Thats what I call a "EXPERIENCE"... I looked on the Inter...
