Hey guys this is my first time posting.

Ive got a big problem. Ever since i took my pc into repair i havnt been able to play games if i do not run them in a window. If i do play a game in full screen then it will simply crash and i will not be able to play another game windowed or full screen until i restart my computer.

My graphics card wasnt that old when i had to have the pc taken into repair. When i called the repairman up to tell him this issue, he came round and told me it was somthing to do with my registry but after re-installing windows twice since, the same problem still occurs.

This is a real mistery and i would appriciate it if one of you clever people could help me out :)

Do you beleive it could simply be my graphics card dying out? And could the repairman simply be telling me about the registry to try and cover up what he might have caused?

Please let me know what you think and thank you for reading this long winded message. Thanks.... Luke

It would help if you'd list your system specs.

I believe this is your motherboard:

Make sure the onboard graphics are disabled that you've installed the latest VIA chipset drivers. Version 5.22a of the VIA Hyperion Pro drivers was just released a couple of days ago:

Also, install the latest drivers for your video card (which you didn't list) & make sure you're running the display at the proper screen resolution.

I dont think it's a registry problem since the problem still arises after reinstalling the OS.

Anyway download the latest driver for your graphics card here http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_...

Yh thats just what i thought about the registry. When it got took into repair he basically rebuilt it, along with a new case. Do you think it could be somthing to do with heating?

Ill try the update and let you know how it goes. Thanks for the reply.

Hey. Tried updating drivers but had no look. Ive noticed slight lag on low system requirements games where they just pop a bit if in full screen.

I can play any average spec games that should work on this computer. Games like hitman blood money which used to work perfect dosnt run with graphics on full.

Has anyone any other ideas? Or might it be just down to the graphics card. My guess is the repairman didnt do a great job of repiaring the computer and he has damaged the card.

Thanks again.
