My system had been running just fine with no major probs until I installed my kid's Harry Potter game (EA Games Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets). It constantly crashes with mini dumps. Sometimes it crashes after a few minutes of play, other times she can play for 20-30 minutes before getting the error message. I've checked the EA Games website & have found no help there. Temp doesn't seem to be a prob...the highest temp I've seen is 47C. I have Quake 3 installed & I can play that for hours without any probs. Is this a game issue or an XP issue? I've tried to decipher the error message or the .dmp files, but I can't make any sense of them. Any suggestions?

I've just done some searching in this forum & it appears that EA games don't play well in XP. Is that correct?

Same here but got around it by 1.Downloading a more previous driver that is whql certified(may not need this).2went to cntrl+alt+delete and turned off anything thing that had my name running except of explorer.exe and task manager that had my name and was running-it worked!! You can also trying logging on as a different user and if the game runs in that name then delete the user having problems in xp reboot and add the person back again. After doing the cntrl alt del thing twice Harry runs now without using this anymore.
