Fullscreen DOS Mode problems!

Hi,
I'm now using a very small size software to simulate the operation of X25 protocal. It runs ok as it is still in Windows mode, I mean a small size of window for that program. But after I press Alt-Del to zoom it out as a fullscreen mode, it is totally under DOS Mode (?!?). Everything 's down, and the machine is frozen, cant response anything, even getting worse for the graphic. After that, I re-press Alt-Del again, that fullscreen mode is zoomed in to a small size one, but still does nothing. I closed that program and everything goes ok. The program doesn't harm or take effects with the others program in Windows, but it does itself problems.
How come? Please tell me how to cover it. I really need to use that software from my laptop. Is that caused by a NTFS formatted hard drive? Or any configuration need to be re-configured?

there is no dos mode in xp, and you are right, ntfs will only read ntfs files

Is this a dos prog ur trying to run with XP ??
If so, u will get probs as XP hasn't got dos - only an emulation.
Try making a shortcut to the program exe and right-click/properties/shortcut tab/Run: set to Maximised if ur trying to get it to fill the screen.
Also, I always thought it was Alt/Enter to make full-screen, not Alt/Del ??
Hope this helps
