1) you need a ftp server...im using cerberus....very easy to use 2) then ur friend can download ur file using ftp or browser

Nope you are wrong. The first thing u need is an FTP Server app such as BPFTP Server, Serv-U FTPD or WarFTPD and many more (either you install FTP Server app or ur friend..need only one party). Than if, for example, your friend has installed FTP Server app on his computer and has configured it in order to allow you, than what you need is browser or FTP client. If you wanna use browser, at address bar type: ftp://xxx.xxx.xxx:yy where x is IP number and Y is port number (normally port no. 21). If you wanna use FTP client, I recommend you to use LeechFTP. im right...u're right but u made a little mistake...he needs the ftp server and his friend need a ftp client or borwser..
