I am having a problem uploading files with Windows XP (Home Edition), CuteFTP 4.2.4, and a Verizon Sierra wireless AirCard (PCMCIA card) for internet connection (153K). The problem is biggest with large files 800k and bigger. CuteFTP seemed to be working before (when I had Earthlink dial-up access), but now it stopped working. I can upload only by going to "My Network Places" and using a network connection that goes to "ftp://host.com". I can upload a batch of large files this way, with maybe just one interruption where the server resets the connection, but I still get it done. But CuteFTP (and WS_FTP) have stopped working completely. Either CuteFTP sends the first file in a queue, then loses the connection and can't send anymore, or it can't even send one file - it starts out uploading at 4kbps but decreases every fraction of a second till it shows about 0.1kbps (but my overall internet connection is working fine otherwise). I just sent an email to CuteFTP - I see they have a CuteFTP 5.0 XP Beta you can upgrade to, but I asked them to explain if that would fix this problem. Can anyone help? - Mike

I just got a new webhost, and my files are uploading fine with CuteFTP, often at about 5Kps. I think my former webhost was just screwing me, which I suppose is par for the course. The emails their tech support department (in India) sent were always unintelligible and never fixed (or intended to fix) anything, and their operator stopped letting me talk to the people in New Jersey who always knew how to fix whatever needed fixing, so I've moved on.....
