I suddenly can't log on to my ftp server and the only thing I can think that has changed is my upgrading to Windows Service Pack 3.
When I use a browser to navigate to my ftp site, I can log in, but then the operation times out with some general error. This happens with Internet Explorer and Firefox both.
However, when I use a program like FTP Explorer to connect, it works fine. I am having the same problem on all 3 computers at my home, which are all now SP3. 2 are Xp Pro and 1 is Home, so that can't be it.
Also, I had a buddy at work try to log in remotely and his worked fine from Internet Explorer and he doesn't have SP3 installed so that's what I'm thinking is wrong.
Does anyone know of a solution for that or have any other ideas as to what it could be?
Thanks for any help.

There is no Service Pack 3 for Windows XP, it's only up to SP-2.
If you meant SP-2, it could be XP's built-in firewall that is giving you problems. Try shutting it off temporarily and try your FTP site.
