My computer's Start Menu Bar (Windows XP) is frozen all the time, or has a 10-20 second lag to open the start menu, or restore any minimized programs. The CPU usage is recently pretty high, and it seem's to be because ieexplorer.exe is running in the processes list like 5-7 times at 15k plus of memory per. No IE is actually being run or used at the time. Please help me. Could it be related to hte problems i WAS having with adware and pop-up programs such as lop and wabu? Let me know.

Resgistry searching helps alot and also deleting physical files.
Umm, do this start run, regiedit. Look for your startup section...programs... i.e.
winlogon.exe and when u find that u will see all the other stuff that loads on your start up of Windows XP. Try to have only the neccesary programs. Try to locate and elete all files and registry strings that relate to those adware programs , I know that Lop site stuff , i used to have ti also and it would launch and new browser window like every couple minutes. Iexplorer.exe should only be there if your internet is open. Try to rename your iexplorer.exe to somthing else and then that should sort out the problem where somthing wants to/or is launching that all the time.Regards
