I have a Toshiba Tecra 8200 running XP Pro.
On start up I have a blue screen that says 'one of your disks needs to be checked for consistency'. If I allow the process to complete it then says Windows has made corrections to the file system - the screen then freezes. If I do not allow the process to complete then screen still freezes! Any ideas anyone? Many thanks

Hi Electra Do you have the repair disk for pro? If so just pop that in and try that.
On a hot summers night would you offer your throat to the Wolf with the Red Roses?

sounds like your file system is messed your or you have files on a bad sector of your hard drive, try putting in your xp pro cd and entering the recovery console and running chkdsk, and downloading the diag software from your hard drive manufactuer and running a diag on the hard drive to find out what is wrong with it
